California CPE State Requirements

Approved for State: The California State Board of Accountancy does not pre-approve or register providers of continuing education (CE) courses other than the professional conduct and ethics course. However, for a course to qualify as CE the course must be a formal program of learning which contributes to the professional competence of a licensee.
As a provider, CPAcampus.com does comply with the requirements prescribed in Sections 88 and 89 of the Accountancy Regulations. In so doing, CPAcampus.com courses are considered Self-Study interactive courses for which CE credit equal to the average completion time is granted. Any and all non-interactive courses provided by CPAcampus.com are granted CE credit equal to one half of the average completion time.
CPE Completion Date: Last day of birth month in odd or even year corresponding to odd or even year of birth
Renewal Date/Frequency: Same, biennial
Required Hours: 80
Maximum Self Study Hours: 80
Ethics Requirement: 8 hours every six years
Other Requirements:
One-half of these hours must be in technical areas.
Of these hours, 24 hours may be required in Accounting and Auditing depending on permit holder’s responsibilities.
Of these hours, 24 hours may be required in Government CE depending on permit holder’s responsibilities.
Of these hours, 8 hours may be required in Fraud CE depending on permit holder’s responsibilities.
